Rossland Ridge Bible Chapel

A community of believers who have experienced God's grace and want to share it with others.

Our History

We’re a young church that started in 1995 following the Billy Graham campaign when 24 of us from Pine Ridge Bible Chapel in Oshawa left, with their blessing, to start a new work in Whitby. Others joined from a number of different places so we all wore name tags as we got to know one another. The initial leadership consisted of Kirk Dupre, Angus Henderson, Doug McIntosh and Bob Spry.

Not having a building of our own we rented space in the Baptist Leadership Education Center (BLEC) near Taunton & Brock in Whitby across from what was then Cullen Gardens. The first meeting was held on September 17th, 1995 and we called ourselves Lynde Creek Bible Chapel. Our goal was to eventually have our own building, as the Lord desired and led.

That goal came closer to reality on May 13th, 2000 with the Dedication of the future site of the new chapel. Then, in the summer of 2000, construction on the new building began. It progressed throughout the year with the Lord blessing the work with funding and volunteer workers. On February 11, 2001, the first meeting of the newly renamed assembly, Rossland Ridge Bible Chapel, commenced.

As the work has grown planning started in 2008 for the completion of the building by adding an auditorium and more classrooms as the original plans had called for. May He continue to be honoured and His name lifted up by the ministry of this place.
